This series has a thermoplastic/synthetic interior head and a ring of latex. It has a brighter sound than Jabi Alonso mallets, which looks similar, the significant different can be heard when comparing the harder models.

It is very useful to play tremolos, and with the synthetic interior head, you will have a very distinctive contrast which makes them tremendously versatile. The weight of the different models in Special Wool series varies. The mallets with enormous sound in the softer models (1 & 2), with a less articulate sound and extra soft attack; a general medium model produces very good sounds in whole range of the instrument (3); and the mallets are more agile when the models are harder (4, 5 & 6). These harder models are clear examples of multitone. The number 4 Ref. Grey is a model that we specially recommend.

The Jabi Alonso series is an alternative to this series. It has an rubber interior head that produces rounder, sweeter and darker sounds than the Special Wool Series.

Important note: For long-term maintenance, it is advised to hollow out the wool when you take out the mallets from your bag, and after a long period of using / studying (1-2 hours). Here is the video showing the way of maintenance:
